Why is Takeaway.com now EAT.ch? Why did the brands combine?

This integration stems from the combination of Takeaway.com and Just Eat, the group of companies that own both Takeaway.com and EAT.ch. The integration will offer consumers a wider range of restaurants and food options to choose from. EAT.ch has the largest selection of restaurants in Switzerland via its platform. With this integration, EAT.ch is now also available in the Ticino region of Switzerland.

What advantages does EAT.ch offer to me?

From now on, you will have access to a broader variety of restaurants in Switzerland than ever before. Additionally, you can benefit from various extras like the StampCard programme, discounts and vouchers. You can choose from various online payment methods (credit card, PostFinance, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bitcoins) or pay in cash when ordering.

How many restaurants are on the EAT.ch platform?

Consumers can order from more than 3,000 restaurants via EAT.ch.

Will all restaurants from both EAT.ch and Takeaway.com still be available?

We aim to offer the same selection of restaurants as before, however, as has always been the case, it is a restaurant's decision whether they stay on our platform or not. We expect that most restaurants will want to stay on the EAT.ch platform and that we can continue to offer Switzerland's largest online selection of restaurants, now on one platform. We will also continue to add new restaurants to the platform.

Why does EAT.ch have a new visual identity?

With the integration of Takeaway.com and Just Eat, we strive towards as much consistency as possible across our different brands. EAT.ch has adopted Takeaway.com's striking orange branding to align visually with our other international brands.

Why is the platform called EAT.ch and not Takeaway.com?

We are very proud of our Swiss roots and EAT.ch is a very well-known and beloved brand in Switzerland. EAT.ch is the undisputed market leader in food delivery in Switzerland. In turn, we decided to keep the brand name but change the visual identity to reflect the combination with Takeaway.com and align our visual identity with our international portfolio of brands.

How can I log in to my EAT.ch account?

You can log in with your existing account information, whether you are former Takeaway.com customer or current EAT.ch customer.

Will my Takeaway.com account be automatically transferred to EAT.ch?

If you don't have an existing EAT.ch account, your Takeaway.com account will be securely and automatically transferred to EAT.ch. We want to ensure that the integration has as little impact on you as possible and that your ordering experience remains smooth. We transferred all relevant data for this purpose, such as email addresses, delivery addresses, voucher data and newsletter consent permissions.

I'm used to order via Takeaway.com Will the ordering process change?

No, the ordering process remains the same when you order via the EAT.ch website or app. You can enter your address, choose from a wide variety of restaurants and order your preferred dish. You can then pay with your preferred payment method and complete your order.

Can I continue to use the Takeaway.com app?

Yes, you can still use the Takeaway.com app. There will be no changes for the time being and we will let you know if any material changes are made in the future.

Can I continue to use the Takeaway.com website?

Yes, you can still access the current Takeaway.com website. However, after entering an address, you will be automatically redirected to the EAT.ch website.

Why does EAT.ch charge a service fee?

EAT.ch charges a service fee for processing orders and to maintain our website and apps. A service fee of 2.4% will be added to each order.

I'm used to ordering via EAT.ch. Will the ordering process change?

Yes, the ordering process will change slightly when ordering via the EAT.ch website and app. You can log in to your account to order, or you can place an order without logging in. To order, enter your address, chooses from a wide variety of restaurants and order your preferred dish. You can then pay with your preferred payment method and complete your order. You might need to re-enter your payment details and you will no longer be able to specifically select contactless delivery. All orders are delivered contactlessly by default, as long as you use an online payment method.

Will my existing EAT.ch accounts remain the same?

Yes, your existing EAT.ch accounts will stay the same.

Can I continue to use the EAT.ch app?

Yes, you can still use the EAT.ch app. You just need to update the app.

Can I continue to use the EAT.ch website?

Yes, you can still access the current EAT.ch website. Only the look and feel of the website will be different.

I'm used to ordering via EAT.ch. Why don't I have the option to reorder a meal anymore?

You can still reorder meals. However, when combining the EAT.ch and Takeaway.com systems, we did not transfer your order history. You simply need to place an order to be able to reorder. After placing an order, you can visit your order history page and click the blue reorder button.

I'm used to ordering via EAT.ch. Can I still use Click & Collect?

Yes, Click & Collect is still available but it is now called Pickup.

I'm used to ordering via EAT.ch. Can I still use one-click payment methods?

Yes, you can still use one-click payment methods including Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal.

How can I search for restaurants?

You can search for restaurants using your address or postal code in both the app or via our website.

Can I save multiple delivery addresses?

Yes, you can save multiple delivery addresses in your account in both the app or via our website.

How will I be updated about my order?

You will receive an order confirmation via email and SMS or push message with every order you place. Additionally, you will receive an email to review your ordering experience.

What payment options are available when ordering via EAT.ch?

You can select from a wide variety of payment options when ordering via EAT.ch. You can pay with cash or pay online with a credit card, PostFinance, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Bitcoin.

Can I still pay with TWINT?

At the moment, it is not possible to pay with TWINT. TWINT payments will become available again in the near future.

EAT.ch promotes TWINT payment. Why is it not possible at the moment?

At the moment, it is not possible to pay with TWINT. We are fixing some bugs to provide you with the smoothest ordering experience possible.

I'm used to ordering via EAT.ch. Why do I need to enter my payment details (such as my credit card information) again?

Payment details and credit card information have not been migrated to the new platform. You simply need to re-enter your payment details once. The information can then be saved for future orders. Payments, and full payment card details, will continue to be handled by a third party payment services provider. Only limited card data will be handled by EAT.ch

Why can I not pay with PostFinance?

At the moment, it is possible to pay with PostFinance on the Website. Unfortunately payment with PostFinance is currently not possible for iOS and Android App users. We are working on making PostFinance payments for the iOS App and Android App available again in the near future.

Can I still use my Takeaway.com vouchers?

Yes, you can still use your Takeaway.com vouchers on the EAT.ch app or website. In some cases, you may be sent a new voucher code via email.

What happens to the Takeaway.com StampCard Programme?

The StampCard programme will be integrated into the EAT.ch website and app so you will be able to continue collecting stamps.

Can I still use my EAT.ch vouchers?

Yes, you can still use their EAT.ch vouchers, when using a online payment. Unfortunately it is not possible anymore to use vouchers with cash payment.

What happens to EAT.ch gift cards?

EAT.ch gift cards that have already been purchased are still valid for use. Unfortunately, the gift card shop will be discontinued. We still offer gift card options for companies and partners interested in buying high volumes of gift cards. For partners interested in gift cards, please email [email protected]

Can I still buy EAT.ch gift cards online?

Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to buy EAT.ch gift cards online. However, you can still redeem the gift cards you currently own.

I'm used to ordering via EAT.ch. Why can't I see my order history anymore?

When combining the Takeaway.com and EAT.ch systems, we did not transfer your order history. We will continue to optimise our user experience and this feature may be reintroduced in the future.

I'm used to ordering via EAT.ch. Why can't I see the recommendation carousel on the website anymore?

When combining the Takeaway.com and EAT.ch systems, we unfortunately didn't have the option to implement the recommendation carousels on the website.

Can I select 'contactless delivery' when placing my order?

All orders are currently delivered without contact, as long as you use an online payment method when ordering via our app or website.

How can I track my order?

For orders delivered by our own courier fleet, you can use the Food Tracker™ to track your order. Unfortunately for orders delivered by our restaurant partners, live tracking via the Food Tracker™ is not currently available.

Where is EAT.ch's Customer Services team based? What languages can they speak?

EAT.ch's Customer Services team is based in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, and can currently provide support in German, French and English. In the future, EAT.ch's Customer Services team will be based entirely in Switzerland.

Is there any change in the way I can contact Takeaway.com/EAT.ch customer service if I have questions about my order?

What will happen to Takeaway.com's Swiss social media accounts?

These accounts will also be migrated to EAT.ch. All current followers of Takeaway.com's Facebook page will become followers of the EAT.ch Facebook page. The Takeaway.com Instagram account will be deleted.

Will the EAT.ch social media accounts stay the same?

Yes, all the EAT.ch social media accounts will remain the same.

What about the protection of my data? In addition to the advertising of Takeaway.com, do I also get any from EAT.ch?

Data protection is an essential and central matter for us, and one which we take very seriously. As an intermediary between consumers and restaurants, this data will be treated confidentially in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations and will not be sold to third parties. The (direct) advertising that consumers receive relates to their subscriptions. If consumers have subscribed to the Takeaway.com newsletter, they will receive advertising in the welcome communication. Moving forward, consumers will only see advertising from EAT.ch.
