The word Cevabcici (actually Ćevabčići) is the diminutive of the Serbo-Croat term Cevapi, which means as much as "role". The word has evolved probably from the same root as the Turkish "kebab", which is known to us mainly through the famous "doner kebab". The meant the region of the former Yugoslavia with Cevabcici "rolls" consist of ground beef, which seasoned with garlic, salt, pepper and paprika, rolled into long thin rods and being grilled on a grate. The finished grilled bars are packed with plenty of raw onions in a similarly short angeröstetes flat bread and served. True to style thinner yogurt is to served as a drink and a light Greek salad as a side dish.
